About me
Dr. Naiara Belart is a certified therapist, and educator with a Ph.D. in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School (Summa Cum Laude). Currently working at HUG - Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève (Unité d'éducation thérapeutique du patient), she specializes in using both traditional and digital arts to support patients struggling with eating disorders and obesity. In her role, she integrates various art modalities, including traditional arts and digital tools, to promote emotional expression, self-awareness, and healing in her patients.
Naiara’s therapeutic approach combines her extensive background in fine arts and digital media with her expertise in psychology and emotional intelligence, tailoring interventions to each individual’s needs. She also holds a master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology with a specialization in Coaching and Emotional Intelligence from EQBS, and a master’s in Computer Graphics and 3D Animation from CEV Madrid. Additionally, she has a postgraduate degree in Art Therapy from Barcelona’s Metáfora School and a BA in Fine Arts from Complutense University of Madrid.
Since September 2020, Naiara has been supervising group social skills sessions for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at Autisme Genève. She teaches Digital Citizenship and Expressive Arts at La Découverte school and leads robotics courses through collaborations with various public schools and organizations in Geneva. Naiara is also a STEAM instructor with Techlabs at Collège du Léman International School and Ecolint | International School of Geneva, where she fosters creativity and technical skills among students.With a strong foundation in 3D art, modeling, and animation, Naiara seamlessly integrates these skills into her clinical practice, offering novel treatments for individuals with ASD.
She has taught 3D computer graphics at Beijing’s University of Science and Technology and has worked as a 3D artist consultant in New York, developing digital interventions to support her therapeutic practice.
Her international experience spans Europe (Madrid, London, Malta, Zurich, and Geneva), the United States (New York), and China (Beijing), and she offers therapy and training sessions in French, English, and Spanish.
